MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - REFRIGERATION Vacancy

Royal Castle Limited is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - REFRIGERATION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
1. Performs repairs inspections and preventive maintenance duties on equipment, air 
conditioning systems, chillers, refrigerated water coolers, compressors, 
condensers and other similar equipment, as required.
2. Executes overhauls and servicing of refrigeration units by repairing, changing or 
reworking defective parts of compressors, condensers and vacuum pumps.
3. Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions, diagnoses problems and performs 
maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
4. Installs, rebuilds, replaces or repairs fans, motors, thermostats and other 
equipment, as necessary.
5. Provides assistance to the Maintenance Coordinator in planning new installations 
and modification projects, applying knowledge of refrigerating systems and 
engineering specifications.
6. Requisitions for materials required for the smooth operation of the refrigeration 
and air conditioning equipment.
7. Assists in the verification of refrigeration and air conditioning spares purchased or 
supplied.
8. Maintains job sheets detailing nature of assignment, parts utilized, time expended 
and type of work performed.
9. Instructs personnel in proper use and operation of air conditioning and 
refrigeration equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge:
◉Standard practices and theory of HVAC and refrigeration .
◉Materials, methods and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC and 
refrigeration systems.
◉Air compressors and pneumatic controls.
◉Basic electrical components.
◉Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Ability to:
◉Perform skilled maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, installation and 
alteration of ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and related 
equipment and facilities. 
◉Communicate technical concepts to a varied audience.
◉Use ladders and scaffolding while performing job duties.
◉Develop and maintain good working relationships.
◉Efficiently manage time while working in a fast paced and dynamic environment
◉Meet tight deadlines and attain set targets.
◉solve problems using diagnostic skills.
◉Multi-task while maintaining efficiency.
◉Work and deliver results in a multi-disciplined team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
◉Minimum qualification of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology  Certification from a vocational/technical institution
OR
◉A combination of relevant experience and qualifications
